Easy Sale

Okay. So. Remember how I said (way back when) that I had some great stuff to tell you? Yah. Well. Let the show begin.

First up I am excited to tell you that I sold my first thing to someone who isn't a friend. That's a big thing in my books. Bigger yet is the fact that I wasn't trying to sell anything. You see, I went to a local craft fair with a girlfriend to scout out fabulous things we had to buy, and add to the list of inspiration. I'm bending over one table, looking at something when the lady selling her goods says, "that's a cute flower." So I look around her table, looking for the flower things. She's not selling any. I look up. She points to my poppy. Yes indeed! A stranger likes my poppy. Of course I thank her, explaining that I had to make something with a bit more POW to wear because those plastic ones don't cut it. "You made that?" she asks. She than wants to know why I'm not there selling my poppies. Good question. Should I be? Call me nieve, but I never thought of making them to sell. I'm still not great at thinking my things are good enough to sell. Kind stranger lady soon becomes my best friend and tells me I should be going here and there and getting my stuff out there. So I offer to make her one. It was a test really. Why? If she really liked it she'd buy one right, and that means she's not blowing hot air out her ears. She bites. I made a poppy and sold it to a complete stranger. You have no idea how thrilled that made me.

While we are on the note of my poppies, I got so many compliments about them. Mostly through the friend I made one for because she supplied me with the fabric, but one big one wasn't from her, it was from a man, and not the one I'm married too. The mans-man that did our mudding in the basement noticed me wearing it when he came over the first day and told me how cool he thought my poppy was. Now that means something when a man who wears mud to work daily notices these things and says something about them.

And that folks, is how you get on cloud nine with no effort.

Yay! Love that feeling of validation when someone who isnt practically related wants to buy something. Just so you know I love your stuff and no one pays me to say so, keep it up!
